OpendTect Training Courses - Denver

dGB Earth Sciences will be conducting a series of in person OpendTect classes in Denver (CO) in the spring of 2025. Each training will focus on a practical skill that can be applied right away to your own projects. The selection of classes will provide something for all our users regardless of previous experience with OpendTect. We will start each class with a refresher on navigating the basics of the software, followed by the theme of the class:
 
January 23, 2025 Using fault and horizon interpretation tools in the open-source version of OpendTect.
February 20, 2025 Inversion and bandwidth extension using tools from the ARK CLS plugins.
March 18, 2025 Characterization of faults, folds, flexures and fractures in OpendTect; seismic attribute for structural characterization, fault surface auto extraction and a bit of machine learning.
April 22, 2025 OpendTect applications of machine learning and neural networks.
   
Free Introduction Webinar Prior to the first class we will provide new users who are interested with an one hour webinar covering installation, project set-up and basic navigation in the OpendTect 3D scene.
 
 
If you join for 3 or more days, we will give you 1 class free. Contact us prior to check-out for a discount code in that case. 
 
The class will be taught by Friso Brouwer, geophysical consultant in Colorado and 20+ year user of OpendTect. You can use the training dataset, or bring a suitable own dataset to get a head start on your own projects. All printed course materials will also be provided.We look forward to seeing you in Denver!
